STUDY GUIDE
Our 2023 study guide has been written specifically for the multiple-choice format CSE. It includes all the test areas outlined in the 2022 edition of the CSE Test Plan. It covers all the Test Plan knowledge and task statements, including all parts of Title 24 and the major changes in the 2022 editions of all those parts. It also covers other California-specific codes and regulations, including the California Environmental Quality Act, California Coastal Act, California Health and Safety Code, Essential Services Building Seismic Safety Act, Field Act, Architect Practice Act, and others.
The study guide also includes discussions of the 2017 editions of the AIA documents, construction laws, and all the other areas of architectural practice covered in the Test Plan including new practice areas such as project funding sources, value engineering and deferred submittals. Also provided in the study guide are strategies for studying and preparing for the exam.

MOCK EXAMS
Our mock exams are based on the latest CSE Test Plan (2024) and reference materials for the CSE given in the CAB website. Each exam is comprised of a total of 125 questions included in one single exam as the CSE no longer have separate project scenario and general sections. They are written for candidates taking the CSE starting in January 2025.
Here are some sample questions from the mock exams. The cost of the mock exams is $28 each.
Starting in 2025 we have put our mock exams online. This makes the experience of taking them much closer to the actual CSE. For the first time our questions are categorized into the five parts of the CSE Test Plan and candidates will not only be able to get their total score right after they complete the exam, they will also be able to see how well they did in each of the five parts. This will be very similar to what candidates who failed the CSE gets after the exam. This allows candidates to know which part(s) they are weak in and can help them focus their preparation to cover all the relevant information that CAB will test them on.
